1. Cucumber
We all have enjoyed cucumber in vegetable and fruits salad, but do we know that it has abundance of beauty benefits whether for skin, hair or eyes, it is one of the most liked ingredient in Indian kitchen. Cucumbers have 95% water, has cooling properties which helps to improve a dull greasy complexion. It keeps our body hydrated. Cucumber is an enormous ingredient for lighting the skin.
HOW TO USE
- Cut a fresh cucumber into slices and rub the slice on your face one by one till the slices gets dry. Leave it overnight and rinse with cold water in the morning.
- You can also prepare a face pack of cucumber. For that you will need a fresh cucumber, rose water and glycerin. Take out a cup of juice from fresh cucumbers. Add 1/2 cup of glycerin and 1/4 cup of rose water. Mix it well and apply on your face and neck. Allow it to dry completely. Wash your face with cold water and pat dry.
2. Lemon
We love lemonade and lemon chicken, but what love it even more is our skin and hair. Lemon is just perfect for our skin. It has citric acid , which act as a natural bleaching component. It helps to remove age spots, dark spots and pigmentation.
HOW TO USE
- First wash your face with cold water and wipe with soft washcloth. Take 1 spoon of lemon juice, 1 spoon of milk powder and 1 spoon of almond oil. Mix it. Apply the mixture on your face and rinse it off after 15 minutes with lukewarm water.
- Take 3 spoon of lemon juice , half cup of rose water and half cup of glycerin. Mix it and preserve in a bottle. Apply it regularly for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water. ( add a spoon of honey if you have dry skin). You will see a great result in a week.
3. Yogurt
This white and creamy food is not just to eat but is also beneficial for healthy skin and strong hair. A mild massage with yogurt into the skin will help to remove dead skin cells, reduce breakouts and deep cleanse the skin. Yogurt is a great moisturizer also. It smooth-ens your skin.
HOW TO USE
- A mixture of it with ground dries orange peels is a marvelous scrub which leaves the skin glowing.
- Take a tbsp of yogurt and 1/2 tbsp of gram flour. Combine and mix it well. Apply on face allow it to dry. But don’t smile, otherwise the lines will leave wrinkles on your face. Now you may know that it’s not funny. lol…. However, the proportion of mixture will vary depending on the nature of your skin. If its oily, reduce the amount of gram flour and vice versa.
4. Tomato

HOW TO USE
- If you want to shrink your pores, then massage your face with a mixture of 2 tbsp tomato juice and 2-4 drops of lime juice. Leave it for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. Regular use of it will have a great effect.
- Rub the tomato slices on all over your face and neck in circular motion. Rinse with lukewarm water and wipe with soft washcloth.
- Mash the tomatoes into a pulp and add Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) or sandalwood powder to it. Mix properly and apply it all over on you face and neck. Allow it to dry completely. it will take about 15-20 minutes. Wet your palms and scrub it for 4-5 minutes in upward circular motion. Rinse with lukewarm water.
